On-Grid Solar System in Pakistan
Net Metering
An Electricity policy “Net Metering” allows Consumers to produce electricity using Solar energy for their own consumption ad sell (Export) the excess energy (Units) produced to the national grid. This policy assists the consumers to sell off units against the electricity consumed during Off-peak hours. Resultantly, the consumer gets paid for excess units sold to national grid or gets a reduced electricity Bill.
National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) with all its goodwill to facilitate the people of Pakistan regulated this policy in 2015. Via this policy DISCO’s were allowed to purchase excessive Energy (Units) produced by consumer’s On-Grid or Hybrid Solar Energy system. Therefore, the consumers can reduce their electricity bill to zero or get paid for the excessive units sold. Once NEPRA, AEDB and DICSO inspect the Solar energy installed at a site, issue a licence which legally allows the consumer to sell energy to national grid. After the licence is received the Uni-Directional Meter is replaced with Bidirectional meter.
As per these regulations, any customer of the national grid (having a three-phase connection) can avail net metering facility starting from 3kW up to 1MW.
Arista Solar proudly claims to have its own team to facilitate its customers in processing Net Metering and installation of Bidirectional Metre. The Net Metering Facilitation Department of Arista Solar first collects all the required Data Such as Consumer’s CNIC copy, Site’s NOC, etc and proceeds it’s Net metering Case in DICSO, AEDB and NEPRA.
